Since the early 2000s teams of youth and young adults have been traveling with our DOXA Journeys program to rural communities called Bateys (villages within sugar cane fields) outside the city of Barahona, DR. Here, students have played a key part in building projects (a daycare, church, library and 200+ cement floors for families in need). They also help with meal programs, English classes and community outreach. We continue to partner with local churches and pastors in the DR to bring the love of God through word and deed to our friends in these communities.
